Kernels

I compile all the kernels from the sources from kernel.org. See the download section to see what I use as config files. Again use at your own risk!

Standard

As a standard kernel I use a 2.4.17 kernel with the 20020214 acpi patch and the hand patched acpi which overrides the computers DSDT ACPI table. This is more than experimental - SO USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Like all of the stuff here - works for me.

Alternative kernels:

The 2.4.18 kernels are the new standard kernels

To satisfy my curiosity: 2.5.5-pre1 with the alsa modules now included in the kernel. I use this to play around with - nvidia packages don't compile with it yet so I test the newest acpi patches with this kernel so I will not have to screw up my standard kernel every time.

As a fallback in case I really screw up: The 2.2.19-pre17idepci kernel installed by the potatoe install.
